What happened
The DPA found the controller in violation of the GDPR after it unlawfully processed personal data by publishing graphic images of the 2007 murder of Chiara Poggi. The publication of the images did not fulfil the proportionality test as they did not contribute to the public interest and were disproportionate to the victim’s dignity and family’s rights to protect such.
